How we handle your data
Short and clear: what we collect, why, and what rights you have.
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Who's responsible for your data?
Vernova (company number ON 1041.588.968), represented by owner Aaron Verstraete, is responsible for processing your data via this website. Questions about this policy? Email aaron@vernova.be.
What data do we collect?
Via the contact form: your name, email address, optionally your company name, optionally the name of whoever referred you, and your message. We also collect, only with your consent, general, anonymized visitor statistics via Google Analytics.
Cookies and Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (e.g. which pages are most visited). This only happens after you give consent via the cookie banner - without consent, no analytics cookies are placed. You can change your choice at any time via 'Cookie settings' at the bottom of the site. This data is processed by Google Ireland Limited, under Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
The question field on the homepage
If you ask a question in the question field on the homepage, we send only the text of that question to Anthropic, the maker of the AI model Claude, which writes an answer based solely on the information on this website. We don't ask for your name or email address and we don't store your question, so please don't include personal details. To limit abuse, we briefly keep your IP address in hashed form, only to count the number of questions per visitor. Anthropic is based in the United States and processes the question under its privacy policy (anthropic.com/legal/privacy).
Why do we process this data?
To respond to your question or request, and - if you become a client - to follow up on the collaboration. The legal basis is your own contact request (legitimate interest) or the performance of a contract. For Google Analytics, the legal basis is your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How long do we keep your data?
Contact data: as long as needed to follow up on your request or the ongoing project, and afterwards for as long as legally required (e.g. accounting obligations tied to an invoice). Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' standard retention periods.
Do we share your data with third parties?
Only with parties necessary to run or analyze this website technically: the hosting provider, Formspree (processes messages sent via the contact form and forwards them to our inbox, under its privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy), Anthropic (processes the questions you ask in the question field on the homepage, see above), and - only with your consent - Google (Google Analytics). Your data is never sold or passed on for third-party marketing purposes.
What are your rights?
You can, at any time:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data deleted
- Object to the processing
- Withdraw your consent for Google Analytics via 'Cookie settings' at the bottom of the site
- File a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be)
